The main aim of providing Fullbright Fellowships is to enable Indian students, academics and professionals to study and conduct research and teach in the United States.

Fellowships Details :

An Indian applicant needs to face a rigorous application and interview process for selection of Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships.

Scholarships are available for pursuing Master's degree and research programmes.

Environmental Science/Studies
Higher Education Administration

Fellowships Benefits:

Fellowship grantee is provided with the following list of benefits:

J-1 visa support;
Round-trip economy class air travel from fellow's home city to the host institution in the U.S.
Funding for tuition and fees, living and related costs; and
Accident and sickness coverage per U.S. Government guidelines.
No financial support for dependents is provided by the Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowships.

Note: Maybe, sometimes, USIEF funding may not cover all costs and hence the scholar may need to make other resources arrangements for supplementing the grant benefits.

Eligibility Requirements:

In addition to the General Prerequisites, the applicants should:

have passed Indian university recognized degree(a four-year bachelor's degree or a completed master's degree)with at least 55% marks, which is an equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree.
have full-time(paid) professional work experience at least for three years relevant to a student's proposed field of study by the application deadline;
demonstrate experience in leadership and community service;
must not have another degree from a U.S. university or be enrolled in a U.S. degree program; and
if employed, please follow the instructions carefully regarding employer's endorsement. If applicable, please obtain the endorsement from the appropriate administrative authority on the FNMasters Employer's Endorsement Form. The employer must indicate that leave will be granted for the fellowship period.

Important points to be noted by Fulbright-Nehru fellowship aspirant(As per Official website):

Application for Only ONE Fulbright-Nehru fellowship category during a competition cycle is accepted.

Duplicate(More than one category ) in the application will lead to disqualification.

Fulbright-Nehru applications are to be submitted online, if not specified otherwise.

No application will be accepted after the deadline.

Extensions and Transfer of visa sponsorship will not be permitted.
