Education in Dubai comprises of primary education, secondary education, and tertiary or higher education.The accreditation of schools in the United Arab Emirates is the sole responsibility of the Ministry of Education. The development of education and human resources sector in addition to a license to educational institutions is the responsibility of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), founded in Dubai in the year of 2006.
Public school

Private Education
In 2017, there are 185 private schools in Dubai that offer one of the following curricula (organized by the number of schools following the program): British, Indian, American, the program of the Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates, International Baccalaureate, Iranian, French, Filipino, Pakistani, SABIS, IAT, German, Russian, Japanese and Canadian. A total of 273,599 students from 187 different nationalities were enrolled in private schools in 2016/17. This is heavily weighted towards younger age groups with 42% in primary education, 25% in secondary education, 15% in tertiary education and 18% in kindergarten. British and Indian study programs alone account for 64% of enrollment in private schools in Dubai.
Tuition fees in these private schools range from AED 1,725 to AED 107,200 a year, and Dubai's annual private tuition revenue is AED 5.35 billion. 39% of students pay less than AED 10,000 in tuition fees per year.

this has been reinforced with KHDA's tuition fee decision that allows the highest -rated schools to pay higher fees than those who are less well rated. Primary education
Primary education in Dubai is compulsory from the age of 5 years by the UAE Ministry of Education. Most schools offer both primary and secondary education, so students do not need to be transferred to a separate school after completing primary school. The American curriculum ranges from Kindergarten (5 years old) to Grade 8 (14 years old). The British program ranges from year 1 (4-5 years) to year 9 (14 years). The International Undergraduate Program is for children aged 3 to 12 years old.
Secondary education
Most high schools of education in Dubai require students to take standardized tests such as Advanced Placement, SAT, IB Diploma, IGCSE, GCE Advanced or CBSE. Other options include PEARSON BTEC Professional Education Level 2 Diplomas and Level 3 Extended Diplomas. A new proposed program is the IB Career Program which may include a BTEC and is offered in 6 UAE schools.
Tertiary education
A significant number of accredited foreign universities have been established in Dubai. Most of their campuses are located at Dubai International Academic City, a free zone built especially for higher education institutions. At Dubai Health Care City an institute, the 'Harvard Medical School Dubai School Center' (HMSDC) for postgraduate was established. The RIT Dubai campus is located in Dubai Silicon Oasis.
In 2010, Michigan State University Dubai closed all undergraduate programs.
